If IBS has you in a vice-grip and the symptoms are making
your life hell, following these instructions will stop the symptoms
and give you a breathing space.
You will then have the
time and energy to implement the THREE
STEP Action Plan
and permanently get rid of all IBS symptoms.
Eat only these foods...
- Warm water with a little lemon, lime or other fruit juice.
- Fresh citrus juices - cut up oranges or grapefruit
and suck the juice out of them. Fresh pineapple juice
can be used too. If these are not available take a
small Vitamin C supplement instead.
- Nut & soy milks - avoid any with added fibre or
stabilizers.
- Sweet Potato - eat one small cooked sweet potato
daily with the mineral supplement.
- Mineral supplement - do not use capsules, get
tablets or solutions.
- Sugars... Honey, Maple Syrup, Raw Sugar and Jaggery.
- Egg Yolks.
- Greek yoghurt, ricotta, cottage cheese or similar
dairy foods.
- Raw fish, shellfish and raw liver.
- Vitamin B supplement - do not use capsules, get
tablets. Take this supplement with raw animal food
meals.
- Teas.
- It is essential that all gluten is removed from your
diet. This is commonly found in processed foods. eg.
in the stabilizers in dairy foods and nut milks.
Eat them like this...
- Juice and Nut Milk meals... have ~300mL fresh citrus
juice with ~300mL fresh coconut, almond or soy milk.
Coconut is eaten in tropical climates only.
Do not eat it if oil has separated from it. All milks
MUST have no added fibre or stabilizers. Restrict
these meals to a maximum of three per day. You should
eat your sweet potato and mineral supplement with one
of these meals.
- Animal food meals...
> have 30-50g fresh raw oily fish with a little
lemon or lime. Maximum of two raw fish meals daily.
> OR 20-30g freshly shelled raw shellfish. Eat only one of
these meals daily.
> OR 15-25g of fresh raw liver from a grass fed
free range animal. Eat only one of these liver meals
daily.
> OR three free range egg yolks eaten raw. Have a
maximum of six egg yolks per day.
> OR ~200g plain, unflavoured high fat Greek
Yoghurt (or similar) with no additives or stabilizers
in it. An alternative is fresh, unsalted cottage or
ricotta cheese, again with no additives or
stabilizers. Do not eat this meal cold. It should be
at room temperature or warmed up a little. Eat a
maximum of two of these meals daily and do not eat any
other foods except sugars and teas with dairy.
- If you have been suffering from severe diarrhoea
then your bile salts and digestive enzymes may be low. Start carefully with one small juice meal. See
how it feels. Proceed with caution. If there are any
problems take only juices,
sugars and teas for a few days.
- Keep the juice and animal food meals separate with
at least two hours between them.
- You may have teas and sugars with all meals. Restrict
sugars to one heaped teaspoon per meal. Drink teas last
in your meal.
- Vegans may omit the animal food meals and have
another juice meal.
- You can eat this food for weeks if necessary. It
contains all necessary sugars, minerals and vitamins.
It is low in fat, so you will lose some weight. To
prevent weight loss implement the THREE
STEP Action Plan as soon as you can.
Constipation...
The above diet will stop all
diarrhoea symptoms, but you may have constipation. Here are
a few ideas to relieve it...
- Eat a fresh ripe raw kiwifruit, or a large slice of
fresh ripe raw pineapple. If your
constipation is not relieved in 24 hours then you will
need an enema and/or laxative.
- Clean out your colon with a warm saline enema of 9
grams of salt to one litre of water.
- Take your laxative just before retiring for the
evening.
- Do not use laxatives too often as they cause your
intestines to lose muscle tone and become lazy.
